A bit about myself ,
I’m Diana, a graphic designer based in Vienna. My passion is to use visual communication to create compelling designs that connect and inspire my audience. I think that design should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also purposeful and meaningful. My designs describe me as I am: emphatic, perfectionist, creative, committed, detail-oriented.
Branding is among my favourite, I love it when a system of image, sign and typography is perfectly coordinated to market a certain concept successfully and enjoys experimenting with various design elements to create designs that are both visually stunning and highly functional. I believe that design has the power to make a real impact on the world, and I’m excited to be a part of this creative and dynamic field.
My Story
I was definitely a visually and creatively inclined child. We grew up in a poor family in the 1990s, an era before the internet and before technology, so we were actually forced to be creative. We would spend hours outside playing with Barbie dolls, rollerblading around the neighbourhood, or painting with chalk on the pavement. My and my sister's Mona favourite game was to meticulously tailor barbies outfits and to build catwalks where we were preening our fashion collections. When we were board of this game we would make up stories about their life with Ken and baby Kelly. At the age of 9 I attended a painting club for a year. Together with the group of children, I participated in a few exhibitions and contests where I won some prizes.
I continued to do creative staff throughout elementary school, but I also discovered a new interest for design thanks to projects that had to be completed for class. Whether it was for a science fair, a paper, or another assignment, the enthusiasm of the design phase helped me get through the real labor. I like working on anything that involved using eye-catching visuals, whether it was pairing adorable typefaces for a written task or cutting out eye-catching images from magazines for a poster. That, I believe, is when my passion with design first developed.
